Royal Oak: As the owner has not responded to my previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it. It is not normal to unarchive a cache, which has been archived due to a lack of maintenance.

An easy walk uphill from roadside parking to the summit of Blaze Fell distance just over 1KM height Gain 75m approx - well worth the effort for the stunning views - choose a clear day for the best views
Blaze Fell is located in the Eden Valley between Penrith & Carlisle just off the A6 is seldom walked which is a shame because its a relatively easy walk with the reward of fabulous views from the Trig Point towards Blencathra & the Northern Lakes, Cross Fell & the Northern Pennines, the Solway and Dumfries & Galloway.
Parking & permitted acess is available at N54 47 154 W002 46 009 - NY 50784 43713 keep to the permitted footpath as you walk uphill through several field (the perimeter of the fields are fenced with the top line of wire (4' high) being electrified - there is absolutly no need to be anyway near the fencing but it may be worth keeping mini cachers away from the fence lines - all access points i.e. gates are safe - the final field gate takes you to the summit area which has in the past been quarried for sandstone.
The walk through the fields is a premitted acces to give entry to the open access land on the summit - so the landowner is quite within his rights to fence his land as he sees fit.
If you can thread you way through the quarried area towards the Trip Point and you are very close to our hidden cache - however if you would like to avoid the rocky ground - from the gate in the boundry wall follow the track ahead until you see the fenceline ahead - now follow the indistinct track to the trig point.
Our clue is Heather says - add the Trip Point Numerals thats the number of paces you are away from our cache in a North Westerly direction.
Cache contains Logbook - pens - GPS landyards - Mega Scotalnd Key Rings.
