At the Spring Bash event 2009 organised by Glider Slider we got given this cache to place to mark the event.
We place it in the Pretoria Botanical Gardens for enyoment to all who could not attend the initial event at Fountains.
The Pretoria National Botanical Garden is one of a country-wide network of eight botanical gardens administered by the National Botanical Institute.
This tranquil Garden showcases many southern African plants in their seasonal guises. Frost, summer thunderstorms and winter drought give rise to dramatic contrasts throughout the year. Indigenous plants can be seen, smelled and enjoyed away from the hustle and bustle of city life; the ideal place for outdoor exercise – walking or jogging; safe family outings and a scenic spot for picnics, a cup of coffee or lunch.
Many rare and endangered plants are also protected here and ongoing horticultural research constantly improves the methods used to propagate and cultivate plants for display in the Garden. The hillside vegetation, on close inspection, reveals a rock garden of amazing complexity and interest. Dassies sun themselves on the rocks and flocks of guinea-fowl wander over the lawns. The rocky ridge is a haven to small buck, mongooses and hares and over 185 species of birds. The nursery houses the Desmond Cole Lithops Collection and succulent treasures from Madagascar.

The Pretoria National Botanical Garden is open daily from 08:00 to 18:00 hours, a small fee of R 24,00 per adult and R 12,00 per scholar is charged for entrance.
The cache is very close to one of the hiking trial towards the west of the gardens, please replace it as found to ensure the container can not be seen from the path.
