Geocache Description:

First of all thanks to martletsman for allowing us to add another cache to this wonderful series! I have adopted this geocache from brightonrob, who has (regretfully) now moved away from the area. Hopefully I can fulfill his trust in allowing me to take on some of his caches.

This one is located in Sheepcote Valley. The valley is a downland area on the eastern edge of Brighton. Over 90 hectares (220 acres) are open to the public. You can wander freely, take a walk, fly a kite, picnic - enjoy a sense of open countryside very close to the city. AND: Find a few caches :)

You are looking for a micro cache containing only a log book. The cache is not hidden in the pond, but pretty close.

As the valley is very popular with local dog walkers, please expect high muggle traffic!

About the 'Ponds, Dew Ponds and Lakes of Sussex' series:

This series is thanks to Dick and Jan (Saltdean Seekers) as it was their Walkabout series (click above for details) that spawned the idea.

How many times when out walking or cacheing have we come across a pond or Dew pond that seems to be asking to become a Cache?

So armed with pre-prepared micro, it is easy, see site, hide micro, record co-ordinates, get home and enter listing details.

This series will consist of a mixture of:
- Caches in their own right
- Caches situated on the way to other caches
- Cache and dash types.
- In many cases you can decide which type you want it to be, and may want to look at your maps to decide before setting off.
