The terrain rating is a 2.5, and most times it is with a nice little path to follow and only a little bushwhacking , but when it is early spring, very rainy or when water is being released from the Mt. Morris dam, the terrain could become a 5. You could probably access it by boat, but we wouldn't want too! Park hours are sunrise to 10pm, please respect them
We placed this cache because while Howie was down here fishing in the sinkhole (there really are fish, check out the background image of Zoggy20's huge crappie), he noticed some really great huge old trees that are beginning to show signs of stress from the constant flooding. Also we were hankering to put a big 'ol ammo can out there.
For the history of how this area came to be, check out the cache page for the nearby Sinkhole cache by Zoggy20,GC1D7VC, go for it too, it's a great hike through both this and the larger sinkhole area to the south.
Check out the really great tree at N 42 46.597 W 077 51.672, it's where we originally wanted the cache to be, but it was too close to another cache.
FTF- gets a new matchstick holder-some of you must be in dire need of them by now! There are gold coins for the 2nd & 3rd.
