The Hinton/Entrance airstrip was one of the many built for water bombers many years ago. Since 1971 it has been home to the Hinton Flying Club and the Heli-attack school that moved in about 15 yrs ago. Heli attack crews are able to rappel out of helicopters alongside their equipment so they can quickly respond even in isolated areas.
