Geocache Description:

Stop by the store on the left before you turn left. They have good pizza (really they do) and nice employees!!

For the most part, this series is based on our favorite songs (ours, our friends and our family members). We threw in a few that weren't our favorites but fit the cache that we hid. It's best to start at We've only Just Begun (The Carpenters).

Room to pull over isn't a problem. We saw cows, brahmas, vultures and skeeters the size of vultures. We also saw signs that the roads can flood.
Please keep this in mind and stay safe.

A separate note... Thanks CADrake for providing lots of the containers we used.

"Up Around the Bend" is a song recorded by the American band, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and written by the band's lead singer, guitarist and songwriter, John Fogerty. The song was composed and recorded only a few days prior to the band's April 1970 European tour and was included on the album Cosmo's Factory.

The song is opened with a prominent, high-pitched guitar riff played by John Fogerty. The song's lyrics have Fogerty telling of a gathering "up around the bend" on the highway and inviting the listener to join in.

Released as a single, along with "Run Through the Jungle" on the flipside, the double sided single (counted as one entry by the methodology used by Billboard magazine at the time) eventually climbed to #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the spring of 1970, and eventually was certified gold by the RIAA, for sales of over one million copies. It was also a major hit in the UK, reaching number three on the UK Singles Chart.

The song has been covered by a few artists, including Elton John who recorded a version of the song early in his career, and Finnish rock band Hanoi Rocks, who covered it on their 1984 album, Two Steps from the Move, and still regularly perform it live. Czech singer Pavel Novak recorded a Czech version in 1970

Atlanta radio talk-show host Kim Peterson used the song as his theme song and bumper music during his show's run on WGST-AM from the mid 1990s to the mid 2000s.
