Geocache Description:

SMALL CONTAINER DIFF=2 TERRAIN RATE =2 A NEAT SPOT IN THE PITTSTOWN STATE FOREST

WATERHOLES WERE USED IN THE 1930S AND 40S FOR FIRE PROTECTION AND IRRIGATION OF OLD FIELDS RECENTLY PLANTED INTO NEW GROTH FORESTS. MOST WATERHOLES HAD A CUT STONE FOUNDATIONS IN THE FORM OF A CIRCLE, THERE USED TO BE MORE OF THESE AROUND BUT THERE DISSAPEARING AMONGST THE CHANGING TIMES OF THE WOOD LOTS MANY HAVE BEEN DESTROYED OVER TIME THIS ONE STILL HOLDS WATER MOST OF THE YEAR.
