Officially opened in 1853, this cemetery has graves dating back to 1849 (maybe moved from other locations). Many of the pioneer families are buried here, including WT Newby. Newby donated the land that became the start of McMinnville. The town was named for McMinnville Tennessee where WT Newby was originally from. The cache is in an older part of the cemetery, you can drive close to it.

Please be very very respectful of the area and it's residents. Take time to read the inscriptions and bring paper and crayon to take rubbings of the older markers.
