Geocache Description:

This cache is designed to bring you to a place of outstanding natural beauty.  In the time of year this was published (November) the Landscape is a  beautiful mixture of greens, browns and purples as the heather is in bloom.  The pigeon top (as the name suggests) is quite high and therefore the view over the surrounding landscape is outstanding.  Looking back along the road (northwest) it is possible, on a clear day, to make out the distinctive sugar-loaf profiles of Errigal and flat-topped Muckish in Donegal.  Further north the distant hills of Inishowen come into view, while further to the east lie the slopes of Bessy Bell with its wind turbines. A mass rock used in Penal times lies on the southern slopes of Pigeon Top.

Is it any wonder that this is a favourite for courting couples in the area?  Its beauty is outstanding!  On this note though, please be aware that it will not be muggle free at night (for obvious reasons).  There arent as many visitors during the day (unless the weather is very good) so you will have plenty of time and space to enjoy the silent beauty. The cache is a small screwtop box. Please do not damage or climb over the fence as this is not necessary, you can walk down the other side of the fence, but watch your feet for holes, not your gps (unless you like broken ankles)

There is a walk available if you are feeling energetic which  starts in Drumquin town and climbs uphill for 3km to the summit. Car Parking for the walk is In Drumquin beside the bridge

For those who are less energetic or perhaps unable to walk up the hill due to health reasons there is a carpark at the top of the pigeon top.
