Geocache Description:

The Cache is a 3inch x 6inch push top Tin, containing a log book, pencil and has space for a few small swaps/ TB,

The cache also contain's bonus co-ordinates for GC1VWCQ "The lost church & forgotten graves"

St Mary the virgin.

This charming little church is sometimes called “the Church in the Garden”.

It is quite off the beaten track, in the grounds of the magnificent mansion of Betteshanger. There has been a church on this site since before the Reformation.

The present building is little more than 100 years old, put up by the first Lord Northbourne in the Norman style, incorporating a Norman window and doorway from the ancient church.

The church and grounds are said to be where Rupert Brooke (see related web page) wrote some of his collection of poems during the First World War.

The church is now owned by Northbourne Park School.
