In the 1680’s, prior to being called Camden, this area was know as Coopers Point City where William Cooper’s Manor once stood. In the 1770’s the area was re-named Camden after the Earl of Camden. In the 1900’s the area featured the Camden Motor Boat Club, the Camden Tennis Club, a radio station and horses, but that was 100 years ago.

On the South Jersey Geocachers forum, it was suggested to RATE this a FIVE Star Geocache due to the potential or likelihood of Urban Crime in the area. It was unfortunate to learn of the death of a young man in this park. This raises the crime rate in the area and exposes Geocachers as potential victims to dangerous locales. Please use extreme caution in this area.
