How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Cache is located at the top of the hill (only reason for terrain rating). Grab the main trail from the parking area and follow the bike trail once at the top.

Container is only a few feet off one of the trails – stay off to the side as you log your visit as to avoid any two-wheeled vehicles.

I enjoy taking pictures of the places I geocache, and digital photography sure makes that easy and inexpensive (and a snap to post to the website). I still know a few folks that prefer film – I suspect the 35mm film camera will go the way of the VCR and 8-track fairly soon. May it rest in peace.

About Whitetail Ridge

Whitetail Ridge has 160 acres of open space (much of it wooded, with a couple of nice prairie areas and some nice hills). Located between the River Falls industrial park and Kilkarney Hills golf club, it offers up some nice hiking trails and off-road cycling trails. Home of the Kinnickinnic Off-Road Cyclists (KROC: see (visit link) this group has done a fantastic job of improving the riding trails for all off-road enthusiasts. Check out their website for trail maps and club information. Thursday evenings are race night during the summer months. Good parking and trailhead near the corner of Whitetail and Prairie Drive. Please take care while walking the trails and enjoy the scenery!
