Curse of the FTF #3 - Llanmadoc Hill
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions

A regular cache placed on Llanmadoc Hill
Curse of the FTF Rules:
1. The FTF is cursed! They are asked to place the next in the series (Curse of the FTF - Swansea and Gower #4). If the FTF can't do it, please can they say so in their log or message me so the 2nd to find can be offered the chance to carry on the series
2. It is asked that you only be a FTF for this series once. This is to give others a chance to be the FTF and place the next cache in the series.
3. Cache can be any type of cache (Traditional, Puzzle, Multi, etc.)
but please don't make them member only unless you can give a very good reason as i'd hate for people to only be able to do part of the series. Can also be any size, but to be honest I think Swansea has enough Micros and Nanos, think big!!!
4. When the next cache is placed please e-mail the owners of all the preceding caches so a link can be added (and curse officially lifted).
5. Please keep the series in the Swansea and Gower area (not over the county borders please!), that way local cachers can follow the series, and other areas can have their own :)
The Cache:
Llanmadoc Hill (186m), formed of Old Red Sandstone, is a landmark in West Gower. The cache has been placed in a somewhat obscure rocky pit.
To help visitors, the relevant section of an orienteering map of Llanmadoc Hill (kindly supplied by Swansea Bay Orienteering Club (www.sboc.org.uk) has been added to show the cache location (red circle). Free parking is available on the road side at the brow of the hill leading down to the village of Llangennith (red triangle).
Cachers are advised to use footpaths and sheep tracks rather than the straight line approach which would inevitably lead into low lying gorse.
Spectacular views can be had from the cache site and an wider panorama can be found from the nearby Trig point. Views stretch from the Worm's Head across Rhossili Bay, Burry Holmes, Broughton Bay and acrosss the Loughor Estuary to Burry Port and Pembrey.
Thanks to redvark of Leicestershire who started a series and inspired Broxi, Foxy and Cubs who started the SW Devon series and whom Keturah in turn nicked the idea off. Hope both series go well!!
