The cache is located along a public footpath off Church Lane. It can be a little muddy during the winter.
This cache is one of 7 caches making up the Ogston Circuit series, 6 traditional caches hold the clue to the coordinates of the Ogston Circuit multicache (collect the value of a letter from the lid of each cache). All the caches are associated with a different type of tree. The traditional caches can be completed individually and in any order but as a 5 mile circular walking route around Ogston reservoir, it is recommended you commence with Cache #1, then proceed anticlockwise from #2 to #6 or clockwise from #6 to #2 to be best placed for the final multicache.
From the road turn left onto the footpath. After retrieving the cache (film canister), continue along the path which leads out across a meadow (particularly beautiful during the spring). When you cross the footbridge over the River Amber, you could return to the location of Cache #1 via the footpath alongside the river, or you could take the footbridge over the railway and follow a footpath up the fields to join Ogston Lane nearer the top. If you have collected all the coordinate clues for the Ogston Circuit, multicache, then take your pick!
