ARCHIVING ABANDONED CACHE

Greetings,

Looks like our timing is off, and It’s time to say goodbye to this cache.

Since I haven't seen any maintenance here in a while, I am going to assume that your priorities have changed, and you’ve gone in a different direction.

Archiving due to lack of maintenance is permanent.
CACHE ARCHIVAL IS PERMANENT.

Let me know if I can be of assistance in the future.

Thanks a MILLION for all you have done, Glenn

Geocache Description:

Opie Taylor (Ron Howard) was, in the words of Andy Griffith, the "purest" character. Although Ron Howard is famous in his own right, he was one of the stars of TAGS. Some of the more memorable phrases he said were:

"So what DO you do with a grown woman?"
"Poor Horatio." (misunderstood "ratio')
"Aw, RATS! If you was stayin, I was gonna get to sleep on the ironing board...that's adventure sleeping!"

Opie tried to run away once until he learned that he would never get to see his pa again. Many times Andy had to trust Opie even though it didn't look like Opie was telling the truth. A few times, when Andy tried to (unsuccessfully) explain difficult concepts to Opie, he became frustrated and told Opie to complete his homework to which Opie replies, "How come every time someone can't explain something, I have to do my homework?"

Opie got himself into a problem every now and then like the time he tried to join the Marines or the time he was careless with his new slingshot and he killed a mother bird. He even gave in a little to the "spoiled kid" and pitched his only fit in the series. Even so, he never strayed too far from truth, honesty and hard work.

Although I have never met Ron Howard, I understand that in addition to being superior director, he's a nice guy...sort of like some of the characters he has played (Opie Taylor, Richie Cunningham, etc.)
