This cache replaces our original Sole Pond & Sole Common caches which were both lost/damaged by flooding. This is such a nice area we decided to replace them with just one cache to be found by solving a fairly simple formula from information found on-site.
The co-ordinates given are for the car park and from here you will need to walk down the track to the pond where you will find an information board.
The information given here includes a registered charity number for The Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust. Let these six numbers be represented by A,B,C,D,E & F and you can then work out the co-ordinates of the cache from the following formula: -
N51.(A+F)(D+E).(E-A)(A+C+D)(A+C) W001.(C-A)(A+D+E-C).(A+D)(C+D)(B+C)
The cache can then be reached by a smooth, wide, & reasonably dry path.
Please stay on the path as the common here is home to some very delicate plants and small animals, also, parts of the woods are private but with no clearly marked boundaries. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
The cache is a 1 litre plastic box wrapped in a plastic bag and contains the usual goodies. There are some "Found It" cards too so please take one and as always, if you take the last one please let us know so that we can restock.
The cache location is very close to the footpath so please be careful and discreet when removing and replacing the box.
