Geocache Description:

Should not be to hard to find with just a short bank between parking and the cache.

Col. Edwin L. Drake hired William A."Uncle Billy" Smith, of Salina, Pennsylvania, who worked not only as a driller but also a blacksmith to help him drill for oil in the spring of 1859. "Uncle Billy" started to work for Drake to for a salary of $2.50 a day, including the services of his fifteen year old son. "Uncle Billy" also made the tools that he used for drilling.
