Easy circular walk to Tarn Hows from High Cross - fine views across the South Western Lake District.
Tarn Hows is one of the most visited spots in Lakeland, unfortunately for cachers it is owned by the National Trust and is an SSI which makes it off limits for traditional caches.
This round takes you through some great countryside to Tarn Hows but avoids the crowds and more importantly avoids you having to pay an extortionate amount for car parking (how do they get away with it).
From Tarn Hows view return to the gate and take the path south west towards Coniston - keep straight and level and you'll soon be at the cache site. Watch for magnificent views of Coniston Old Man and Weatherlam through the Trees.
Link this cache with the others in the series to make a great round walk which can be readily completed within a couple hours.
