Easy circular walk to Tarn Hows from High Cross - fine views across the South Western Lake District.
Tarn Hows is one of the most visited spots in Lakeland, unfortunately for cachers it is owned by the National Trust and is an SSI which makes it off limits for traditional caches.
This round takes you through some great countryside to Tarn Hows but avoids the crowds and more importantly avoids you having to pay an extortionate amount for car parking (how do they get away with it).
From Hill Fell continue down the track to the road. Turn left and walk uphill for a couple fo minutes to the well marked footpath off to your right. Take care its a busy road - on the way you will pass High Cross and notice an ornate drinking fountain by the roadside.
Link this cache with the others in the series to make a great round walk which can be readily completed within a couple of hours.
