Kiviksgraven (the King's Grave) is a remnant from the bronze age that is as majestic as it is mysterious. The grave is about 3000 years old, but even more impressive is the size of it: 75 metres in diameter - the largest circular burial mound in the whole of Sweden. In the burial chamber there are ten stone slabs inscribed with symbols from a world of images that really fires the imagination of present day visitors. The stones carry pictures of people, animals, ships and weapons. They were possibly intended to portray a procession or funeral ceremony.
The burial mound itself may be visited all year round, but the burial chamber and the nearby Café Sågmöllan are open daily 15 May - 31 August. Group bookings may be arranged throughout the whole year however.
