Pawleys Point*ARCHIVED 9-23-17* Traditional Cache
The Scout Master: We came down to Pawleys. This geocache Was still in place. HOWever, the area is now closed for a good while (as it has been since last year from the hurricane) due to more storms/hurricanes recently, and will not be open for some time. Also, as the location is also quite grown up/over, it is very difficult to get to.
So, I have decided to Archive this one after 8 years. Thanks to all who visited and enjoyed this beach.

Pawleys Island is a barrier island located along the Grand Strand of South Carolina. It is an old yet beautiful family-type beach consisting almost exclusively of "cottages" or homes.
The south end of Pawleys has always had a special charm, as one can walk all the way to the end or "the Point" where the inlet creek flows in and out each day filling and emptying the salt marsh separating the island and the mainland.
Since we always "walk to the Point" every time we visit or stay, I decided to call it "Pawleys Point".
Pawleys Island is located between Georgetown and Litchfield Beach.
To get there: you can cross onto the island from Highway 17 by way of the North or South Causeways. Either way, turn Right and go as far south as you can.
There is a public parking area right next to the cache. No parking after 11PM! Also, DO NOT CLIMB ON ANY SAND DUNES!!! There is a $200 fine and it can damage them badly. Park ONLY in designated spots. Do NOT park in anyone's private drive without permission.
Permission for this cache has been granted by P. McCulloch of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Dept who is in charge of this area.
***You are searching for a green cylindrical container about the width of a 35mm film cannister, but about 5 inches tall. It does not contain a pen.***
Please use a high degree of stealth if needed, as there can be a very high muggle factor here.
Please also take the time to walk out on the beach and enjoy this beautiful island. If you have time, Walk all the way To The Point and enjoy a little bit of Paradise.
