This is a cache hidden very near to the restored Fairfax Railway Station on the industrial railway line from Invercargill to Ohai and Nightcaps.
We couldn't resist placing a cache here as Alex loves his trains.
All of what you can see over the railway line and the fence is owned by one family and is testament to their dedication to preserving a huge and important part of Southlands history. All of the displays are on private property and permission should be sought from the owner before wandering around.
You are looking for a 200ml Sistema Container, not visible from any distance. There is room for small swaps, GC's and TB's. Please ensure you place the container back in the same place.
The cache is not hidden too close to the railway line but be very aware that the line is still in use and trains can approach here and not be heard until the last minute. Trust us on this one, we know!
We hope you enjoy this spot as much as Alex does.
