The word “goyt” is an old English word meaning stream or watercourse. ‘The Goyt’ is an Ancient wooded area SE of Billinge just beyond Chadwick Green. As you wander round you may see evidence of old mine workings here.
The cache is a medium-sized plastic click-lock container, which you will find about 100m upstream from the Garswood to Billinge footbridge - on the East bank of the stream.
Please replace exactly as found. Cache contains log book and pen and a few small swaps.
Take care in wet weather round this area, as it can become quite muddy and the banks of The Goyt can be slippy. No climbing is needed for this one but be sure to wear appropriate footwear!
