Geocache Description:

Cache is between the trunks of a large Oregon Ash on an island in the Molalla River. You might get your feet wet and might not be able to get to the cache from February through May.

Fraxinus latifolia is one of the major deciduous trees of western Oregon growing up to 75 feet tall and 24 inches in diameter.

I was drawn to this tree when I waded to the island as I had not seen one quite this size for some time. North of the cache site is a nice grove of Western Red Cedar or giant arborvitae.

Cache is tied to a root of the tree so that it won't wash away in high water years. Please cover it with moss when you leave.
