For the last year, I've been wanting to place some caches along the southern end of the hiking trail to connect it with those in the prairie on the northeast side of Lake Benbrook. Then ex135nav made it known he had left a stocked cache container in a location along the trail and put it up for grabs to anyone who wanted to redeploy it. It was to be called "15 Feet From The Trail." Since I was headed that direction to grab a couple of R.O.B.'s new caches anyway, I decided to pick it up and re-hide it. So that's where this cache came from, and why ex135nav gets an assist for it. All I did was lug it a couple of miles or so from where he left it to a new location near an access point to the southern part of the trail.
It's an easy hide. The title refers to its originally intended name-not necessarily its location.
Access to the trail and parking are available just outside the entrance to Rocky Creek Park. No need to pay an entrance fee. The trail from the parking area joins the marked hiking/equestrian trail at Mile Marker 2, where it indicates there are 9 miles of trail to the north and 2 miles to the south. Because it's an equestrian trail, I think dogs have to be on short leashes-at least that's the way it is on the horse trail on the other side of the lake.
