Welcome to Sand Island! On my visit to get SherpaRon's hides here, I decided to leave a couple buffalo droppings for you.
To get to the island, you will obviously need the use of a boat. The recommended launch point is the boat ramp in New Albany. From there, it is approximately 1.3 miles upstream to the island. A closer option is to launch from the Clarksville ramp along West Harrison Avenue. However, you will have to deal with strong currents from the dam, and a dike that will impede your travels if you approach the island from the east. My recommendation is to pull ashore on the north side of Sand Island and hike to all the caches.
Regardless of how you get here, enjoy your visit to this isolated place. While there are few footprints of humans here, there is (unfortunately) much evidence of human existence littered around. Be on the lookout for potential cache containers to take with you, and do a little CITO in the process.
You are looking for a camo'd match container.
