The cache is not at the coordinates given, but is within two
miles.
The number Pi is a wonderous thing. It helps define exactly the the
circumference and area of a circle, but has never been precisely
defined itself. Just a set of digits, but one that goes on forever,
and may hold the secrets of the universe. It was a focal point of
Carl Sagan's Contact (the book, not the movie). And it will
even point to Salem.
Buried somewhere in the number pi are coordinates to a point in
Salem. All you have to do is find them. You are looking for 15
consecutive digits, starting with either 445 or 450. Once you find
these digits, record them as standard geocaching coordinates, then
subtract 0.103 from the North minutes, and subtract 0.007 from the
West minutes.
You are looking for a mag key container, hidden in a usual manner.
This is a popular location, so extreme stealth will be
necessary.
That's it. Just find the digits, do a minor amount of subtraction,
and go find it. Easy, right?
Update: a couple of people asking for comfirmation showed me that I
had mistyped a character in my spreadsheet. This has been
corrected. My apologies for any problems caused.
