Although Desperado & Hotel
California were two of my favorite albums growing up, this Cache
isn’t a dedication to that successful 70‘s sound. Rather, in
dedication to the few that dare to be Eagles.
In El Dorado County, there are many
fantastic
Caches That Make You Say WOW! and then there
are some that exceed description and you just have to be there
to know. I have been to a few of them and this cache is
certainly not one of them. What this cache is though is a
tribute to not only that cache,
GC13W2P but to those who are among the few
who have been on that awesome rock just across the canyon from
here. Who knows, maybe a new Eagle will be looking back at you
while you are here!
Those with the distinction so far
(in no particular order):
StealthCowboy ,
3-carver ,
T-Sauce ,
Cold Springer ,
Scoobert ,
plazmo ,
Warriorrider ,
pirates2+2 .
I realize that the immediate view on
the drive out is tarnished by the Fred’s fire, try to look past
that to see all the new growth and open vistas across the canyon.
The terrain rating is for the route I took from the parking
coordinates. I parked at the little group of trees at the top.
Later, I realized a logging road gets you to within 800 ft. The
junction for the logging road is at the next turn off but Granite
Springs gets rocky before that spot.
Lastly, at the cache site, you will
spot another interesting item left here sometime in the past… I
wonder why?
