Geocache Description:

The Methodist tradition was very strong in the early days of Northern Yorke Peninsula settlement. This is another of many churches and chapels that were built by various groups who were followers of John Wesley.

After many years of meeting in a private home, the Primitive Methodists of Thomas Plains built a church in 1901. The building ceased to be a place of regular worship in 1921, but continued to be used for social events. Since the late 1920s it has been used by the local tennis club as its clubrooms.
