Honor a Lincoln County Cacher: bostonmangum Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

BirkieHiker: rvkids braved the signs that have become more insistent about trespassing and could not find the ammo can at GZ. So after honoring a great Geocacher for seven years, and he has returned to his home in Utah so I am archiving this cache. Thanks for the Good Times caching Ivan! BH

Geocache Description:

The founding members of C.C.O.G. (Central Coast of Oregon Geocachers) felt that it was time to place a cache (ammo can) recognizing an individual that has been honoring us with caches—bostonmangum! He is a driving force educating and expanding the adventure of Geocaching while leading the thrill of the hunt on the Oregon Coast.

Ivan (bostonmangum) has one of those dream jobs…..among other fun things he gets to place Geocaches (about 76) as part of his work! Working for Parks and Rec in Lincoln City, he has set up many events and gatherings for cachers from across the state and region. He has also instituted a “Geocaching 101” class that he gives at Parks and Recs on the Coast and in the Willamette Valley.

In addition to planning the many Events, he has started two Geocoin series---the Lincoln City Geocoin for Community Days and Celebration of Honor as well as a Lincoln County Geocoin that was earned at the first Lincoln County Town and Country Fair.

According to the rules he has established for the other “Honor a Lincoln County Cacher” bostonmangum has the right to claim a FTF even if someone else arrives first (Fat Chance!) Thank you for your hard work, planning, perseverance, and encouragement to all of us and the other cachers you have touched.

BirkieHiker, YahotsWalker, Coast Cards, and Putterer who followed your lead to initiate C.C.O.G.

***PLEASE NOTE: READ the "Private Property No Motorized Vehicles Permitted" Completely. It continues to say: Day use only, Non-motorized activities permitted (i.e. biking, hiking, geocaching) No campfires, No camping, No logging!

Please respect Plum Creek Company's property rights so they will continue to allow the caches along their logging roads.
