A roadside cache north of Oamaru.
In 1995 Oamaru opened a new wetland farming activity north east of the town. The 65 hectare site consists of 11 hectares of oxidation ponds, 2 Ha of maturation ponds, 21 Ha of overland flow area involving extensive tree plantings and 2 Ha of wetlands.
The resulting treated effluent then flows into the lower section of Landon Creek and discharged to the coastline.
The cache a tethered bison container is located near the entrance to this facility and can be accessed from the road.
