Parking at N 42.51.332 W 075.18.827 Watch footing due to vehicle ruts. Do not drive in. Vehicles not allowed. Follow the ruts until you reach the horse trail. Not necessary to bush wack.
This cache is placed in memory of Glen Bacon. April 6, 1917 - Sept. 16, 1998. Glen and his wife Ruth had two children. They were married over 60 years. Their 60th wedding anniversary was held at the old Columbus Hotel. That hotel was a stage coach stop years ago. A cache is hidden there. Glen lived in Brookfield his entire life. He had a great love of family, friends, dogs, horses and the Brookfield area. He also enjoyed the surrounding state lands. He contributed to the NYS Horse Council trail ride in 1969. I attended that ride. He contributed to the Horse Council annual rides thru 1989. Glen spend many years riding his white horse on the Trail System. He attended many organized rides held by various organizations over the years. Glen was a member of the Madiosn County Fair Board and held the position of President for many years. As his father Bert did in previous years. He showed champion Irish Setters and Welsh Terriors. Glen was Mermaidb50's grandfather. Mermaidb50 has 3 caches in the Brookfield area. His caches are always fun and can be very easy or a challenge but as he says "they all can't be easy". Cache is a small camo jar containing a where's George $5 bill, horse necklace, horse pin, pony shoe and other small items. It is located at a memorial for Glen with a sign and picnic table. A great view, bring your camera.
