Geocache Description:

While driving up South Fork Mink Creek you will eventually come to within 475ft. of the cache. It will be very difficult to approach the cache directly from the road. See long description for easier route.

While driving up South Fork Mink Creek you will eventually come to within 475ft. of the cache. It will be very difficult to approach the cache directly from the road.
One option is to go back down the road 1 or 2 tenths of a mile where you will find a cow trail. Then cross the valley to the east a short distance until you get to just below the cliffs. Turn right and go along one of the many cow trails toward the cache. There are many cliffs in this area so you need to be cautious.
Another option is what I call “The Scenic Route”. This way is much longer but very much more interesting. It is not only easier walking with not much bushwacking but has more stuff to look at. Rock formations, scraggly old trees, trees growing right out of solid rocks, caves, fantastic views, etc. Bring a camera and bring a cache container, you’ll probably want to build another cache- there’s tons of places for good hides.
In the future watch for “Cliff Dwelling”- It’s going to be located close to the cave you can see from the parking spot.
For the “Scenic Route” park near the loading chute at N42*41.357 W112*24.957
When leaving go around the corral to the right so you don’t have to climb the fence.
The following coords are for a general direction of travel, they don’t need to be followed exactly. If you want to you can skip them all and go directly to the cache. Again let me emphasize there are many cliffs in this area but no rock climbing is required to get to the cache safely.
Round rock N42*41.450 W112*24.966 from here you can veer to the left if you want to examine the;
Rocky ridge N42*41.455 W112*25.001.
Big rock on a little rock N42*41.533 W112*25.045.
Broken tree trail N42*41.563 W112*25.021
Big tree N42*41.587 W112*24.782
Between the rocks N42*41.624 W112*24.951
Old Cedar Rock cache N42*41.678 W112*25.010
As you can see from the coords. You will be traveling in a generally northerly direction.
Don’t be afraid of this one, OLDIRONNUT is over 60 and 60 over and he’s been here a few times. Take your time and enjoy the time in the outdoors. For FTF describe container and contact me by e-mail for prize.
