Geocache Description:

easy find in an area with a gorgeous view. Please respect the old cabin in the area.

The cache is in a 5 gallon bucket, wrapped in green plastic. Contents are mostly souvenirs taken from the gift shop of the old Mackintosh/Bear Creek Lodge. The lodge has a history dating back to the 1920's when it was first built by Mr. Mackintosh and his wife. It has had several owners, a fire, and a change of name to Bear Creek Lodge over the years. The little cabin in the area was most recently used by a burl carver and some of the burl still remains. Please respect the little cabin. We have plans to fix it. Bear Creek Lodge was purchased in 2009 and is now owned by Bear Creek Logging, which supplies Haines Junction area beetle-killed wood to Whitehorse and other Yukon communities for heating fuel.
