Geocache Description:

1955 I I H F World Champions

In 1955, the Penticton V's hockey team beat the USSR 5-0 to win the world championship.

NEAR this cache is a 10-metre high stainless steel sculpture (designed by local artist Gerhard Moser) depicting five hockey players holding a globe with the words "Penticton V's World Champions 1955."

Dedicated on May30/09, this sculpture is a tribute to both the 1955 Penticton V's and Penticton's Centennial.

NEARBY is a kiosk dedicated to the players from the 1955 V's hockey team and a detailed story about their stunning victory.

As this cache is a micro, please bring your own writing implement. As this is near a busy roundabout, be careful of traffic. Best to keep pets and children under tight control.

Also, please use stealth, as this area can be very busy, especially on days/nights when a hockey game is scheduled.

For schedule, check "www.pentictonvees.ca"

The logbook is very small, so please: only name and date. Remember to 'twirl' to make it easier to remove and insert the logbook into the cache.

Terrain is set at 1.5 but it might be possible from a w/c.

Enjoy!
