I wanted to create a cache that brought out the “star power” of TAGS. There was (in the words of Andy Taylor) “a raft” of stars and future stars that got their starts on TAGS. Here is a whittled-down list of actors and actresses who appeared on TAGS in no particular order.
Barbara Eden: Remember I Dream of Jeannie?
Jamie Farr: of M*A*S*H fame
William Christopher: also of M*A*S*H fame, a.k.a. Father Mulcahy
Jack Nicholson: Yes, Jack Nicholson. He actually starred in a 2 TAGS episodes
Lee Van Cleef: Played Angel Eyes (The Bad) on the classic western The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
Hal Smith (aka, Otis Campbell): If you don’t know Hal Smith, you can thank him for the voices of Winnie the Pooh, Owl and Eeyore along with Jiminy Cricket and Goofy. He was the original voice of John Avery Whitaker in Adventures in Odyssey.
Bob Denver: Gilligan on Gilligan’s Island
Alan Hale, Jr: Skipper on Gilligan’s Island
Buddy Ebsen: Jed Clampett on the Beverly Hillbillies
Bill Bixby: Remember the Incredible Hulk and My Favorite Martian?
Don Rickles: Who doesn’t know Don Rickles? I just looked on the Internet Movie Database and discovered that, among other things, he is the voice of Mr. Potato Head from Toy Story.
