Legion Park is a beautiful park along the Blue Earth river located about 3 miles Northwest of Bricelyn.
***Park is CLOSED TO PUBLIC during October due to Halloween activities within the park, sorry for any inconvenience.***
It is a good place to relax and also a good place to pick raspberries when they are in season. As you are driving down the gravel road, look for the green gates at the entrance. The shelter isn't really usable anymore but still an excellent place to go for a little hike along the river, and of course try some fishing! The trails are also perfect for cross country skiing. There are no restrooms but there are a handful of fire pits scattered around, perfect place to pitch a tent for the night! If you're hungry, the cafe in Bricelyn is pretty good, otherwise Blue Earth is just down the road to the West and Albert Lea to the East via Highway 16 or I-90.
There is also a shooting range in the back of the park, so be safe and don't be alarmed if there is some gunfire. If you do any shooting please do not shoot any signs, buildings, lights, etc.. and please don't leave behind any trash! (targets, etc..).
People have been known to hunt waterfowl, small game, and deer within the park so as with many other caches during the fall one might be wise to wear bright clothing.
You may encounter some wood ticks, mosquitoes, and thorns. I recommend long pants, closed shoes, and deet.
The cache is located only about 50 feet from a trail that runs through the park and is a 6 inch diameter water bottle.
Cache Replaced May 8th 2011
