| Driving into this place we were confronted with a bad omen...
sand way too deep and an abandoned car stuck in it. We backed out,
but then Wendy got a bit carried away and backed into a wash
with..guess what.. more deep sand! |
|
| Quickly the rear drive tires on this 2WD Jeep were
buried. |
While we were stuck awaiting help which would not arrive for
hours, we decided to make the best of it and explore the immediate
area for potential cache sites to hide.
Along the way, we noticed all kinds of cool stuff out there,
including various types of cactus not seen near where I live in
Victorville, but that wasn't all..
| We even saw an albino cock roach... |
|
| It was perfectly adapted to the desert environment, blending in
handily if it were smart enough to stay still around potential
predators--which it was not. I hardly noticed it were there not a
slight movement out of the corner of my eye. |
|
| I decided to hide my cache here. |
|
| This car was too new in my judgement to be out here unless it
was stolen. I still don't know if it was or not. |
