Multi-kätkö, joka kuljettaa sinua pitkin Hiukkavaaran taistelumaastoja. Kätkön lopussa saattaa piillä myös mysteerin aineksia, mutta ei mitään ylitsepääsemätöntä.

Hiukkavaara toimi Pohjan Prikaatin varuskuntalueena vuosien 1962-1998
välisen ajan. Hiukkavaarassa varusmieskoulutuksen saaneiden lukumäärää on
vaikea arvioida, mutta varmaa on, että kaikki varusmieskoulutuksen käyneet
ovat tutustuneen hyvinkin läheisesti kätkösarjan esittelemiin alueisiin.
Kätkön tekijät palvelivat Hiukkavaarassa ja Pohjan Prikaatissa -90 luvun
alkuvuosina ja kätkösarja on katkeransuloinen muisto metsässä
ryynäämiselle, tst-harjoituksille, rastikoulutuksille ja kaikelle kivalle
fyysiselle toiminnalle mitä alueen metsät ja pellot mahdollistivat.
Erityisesti mieleenpainuvia paikkoja lähialueen maastossa olivat mm.
Pajulan pellot, Sukasen linja, Pioneeritie ja -ranta, Sarvikangas sekä
Valkiais-ja Niilesjärven ympäristö kaikenkaikkiaan. Suorittaessasi
kätkösarjaa tulet tutustumaan ainakin muutamiin näihin
Hiukkavaaran miehille 'rakkaisiin' paikkoihin.
Ja koska kyseessä on entinen puolustusvoimien alue, on tietenkin
eräänlainen 'torni'-meininki tietenkin pidetty mielessä. :)
Kätkösarjan Geokulkuneuvoksi suosittelemme maastokenkiä tai maastopyörää.
Autollakin kätkösarjan voi hakea jos maavara on riittävä. Emme ota
vastuuta rikkoutuneista öljypohjista emmekä hiekkaan juuttuneista
ajoneuvoista.
1. Etappi tutustuttaa sinut Sukasenlinjaan joka oli yleinen kulkureitti
matkalla mukaviin ja maanläheisiin harjoituksiin lähimetsikköön.
Nanokokoinen kätkö löytyy Pioneeritien ja Sukasen linjan risteyskohdasta.
Kätköstä luoteeseen sijaistee nykyisen sotilasalueen raja, joten ethän
ylitä kyltin ja puomein merkittyä aluetta.
2. Etappi vie sinut Sarvikankaan kivimaastoon. Alueen kivikkoisuus tekee
sen erittäin hyvin soveltuvaksi tst-harjoitukseen kuuluvaan 'tuli- ja
liike' osioon. Jokainen kätköllä kävijä voi kokeille syöksymistä kivikossa
omalla vastuulla.
3. Etappi sijaitsee Hiukkavaaran ampumarata-alueen vaara-alueen
rajalla Valkiaisjärven välittömässä läheisyydessä. Ampumaradan vaara-alue
on merkitty selkeästi varoituskyltein joten ethän mene vaara-alueelle.

This is a multi-cache which will introduce you to the training grounds of
Hiukkavaara garrison area.
Hiukkavaara served a ground for the Pohjan Prikaati Garrison during the
years between 1963 - 1998. It is not known how many conscripted soldiers
served on Hiukkavaara, but it is most certain that all of them knew the
training grounds exceptionally well. Especially the areas where this cache
is located.
Makers of this cache served their time at Hiukkavaara and Pohjan Prikaati
during the early years of the 90s and this multi-cache is bittersweet
memoir of running, digging, fighting against invisible tanks, planes,
enemies, laying mines etc and all the great physical activities that the
forests and unkept pastures of Hiukkavaara area made possible for us.
Some of the most memorable places at the area were The Fields of Pajula,
Sukanen Line, Pioneer Road ja Pioneer Beach, Sarvikangas and Lake
Valkiainen and Lake Niilesjärvi and their surroundings. While trying to
figure out this cache you will be introduced to these places which all the
conscripts serving their time at Hiukkavaara will remember as "the most
beloved" places of their military career.
And because this is a former ground of Finnish Military you should note
that some sort of "Tower" mentality should be applied while you are
trying to solve this cache. :-)
We recommend a rough foot ware or a decent bicycle to be used on this
cache. You can use a car if it has a good ground clearance. We don't take any
responsibility if your car's oil sump will break or when your vehicle
will be stuck in a sandy ground.
1. The first leg of the cache will introduce you to the Sukanen Line which
was a common route to the very nice, entertaining and ground breaking
exercises to the nearby forests. This nano sized cache is located at the
crossroads of Pioneer Road and Sukanen Line. As the theme of this cache is
about Finnish military the cache is located near the current military are,
so don't break the law and go beyond the line marked by signs and barrier.
2. The Second leg of the cache takes you to rather stony Sarvikangas area.
This place with its numerous stones makes it ideal to train in "fire and
movement" exercises, which require you to quickly dash and then cover your
teams advance with your own weapon and prepare to do it again. While
searching for the cache you are recommended to try and see how much fun
this really is. At your own risk of course.
3. Third leg of the cache is located near the Hiukkavaara shooting range.
The Shooting range is marked with warning signs so don't go inside the
danger zone.
First to find finds a Kenttäpostia-CD inside the cache.
The makers recommend also to go for nearby caches GC1GG09 and GC1XRZ9, the latter of which could be visited during the last leg of this cache.
