DO NOT PARK ON THE HIGHWAY (795) TO ACCESS THIS
CACHE.
There is a fence that you can not scale between the highway and the
cache.
FROM SEPTEMBER TO JANUARY THERE IS
DEER HUNTING IN THIS AREA!
BE MINDFUL, BE CAREFUL, AND BE CIVIL!
There is active bow hunting in this area of the park. PLEASE wear
appropriate clothing (orange
blaze) when looking for this cache from September to
January.
This area needs lots of attention. If at all possible...bring in
a trash bag and take out a load. I have been taking a bag out every
time I come and have not even dented the surface...but with all the
cachers out there...if we all do a little, it might have a big
impact. Thanks in advance.
This cache gets it name from the smattering of large trees that
populate this little forest. As you walk through these woods, you
will see several of these old giants lurking. This one was not so
lucky.
FTF prize may or may not be of use to you. I had an extra
delorme USB gps reciever for your computer or laptop. Legally the
software is not transferable (because I am still using it), but a
windows machine will recognize the GPS when plugged in. If you have
mapping software installed, it should work with this guy. If you
can't use it, leave it for the next to find. There is also a space
shuttle mission patch.
Congratulations to UFF298 on the FTF honors.
