Geocache Description:

This is the second of a five cache series that explores the elements: Water, Air, Earth, Fire, and the Universe.

After spending the night and a day at the river Latis, Taranis knew it was time to move on. For he had dreamed so vividly, after drinking the crystal waters, that he thought for sure he had been awake! The dream was about a trip to the north in search of a wise Dragon! This was the last of the mighty dragons and he kept at a distance to most people! If a human got too close they seemed likely to receive a fiery blast! Yet a few were allowed within his circle of trust, though he remained wary. In the dream, Dracos, had shared great wisdom with Taranis before flying off.

Taranis traveled the lonely roads north for several weeks before he found the small creek that would lead to Dracos' lair. Once on the trail, he found several sets of bones and armor, most scorched to black. The thought of turning back crossed his mind several times before he reached a small shack just off the trail. An old gray haired man hobbled out of the shack as Taranis approached.
“Halt, young warrior! What is it that you seek? Only fools and the dead pass this way. Well... which are you, lad?” The old man looked vaguely familiar, but Taranis could not quite decide from where.
“I come seeeking the last of the dragons, Dracos the Wise. I dreamed that I would meet him nearby... have you heard of him or seen him about?”
“Ah, you are a fool... that is soon to be dead! For only a fool would travel for weeks following a dream!”

Taranis suddenly remembered the strange old man from the outskirts of the forest by the river Latis. The gray haired man seemed to know that he had been recognized for he gave an almost imperceptible nod and started to dissolve back into the house, saying simply,”Continue on this path only if your intentions are true...”

In Taranis' heart, he understood that the wise warrior dragon would be able to enlighten him, so he walked on down the path... Not far in a blast came from the skies that almost toasted Taranis, but he was able to dodge it just in time! The roar of the huge dragon was almost deafening as he landed nearby.

Dracos snorted once then said,” I was foretold of your coming... What is it that you seek, brave one?”
“I seek themeaning. Battle cannot be the only thing in life, so what are wehere for?”
“Let us take to the skies, warrior, I always think better up there.”
Taranis climbed upon the enormous dragons back and they lifted almost effortlessly. As they flew and talked it became clear that the only true answers were insight and knowledge. With each of these, you are able to find a way to avoid most battles. Knowledge applied becomes wisdom. That wisdom will give you the insight to a better solution than battles and war.

The two of them flew over the lands for several hours, talking, contemplating, and sharing that which could help the other.

This cache is a little bit of a walk, thus the difficulty rating, but the terrain is flat and fairly well taken care of so bring the mini-cachers, geo-mutts or even a wheel chair. If you are up for a nice hike there are about 16 or so caches in this area that would be easy to grab on a nice day. Gloves might be useful and bring your LED (Log Extraction Device). Please re-hide the cache as you found it. ByoP.
