This cache is located
along a trail north of Chino Hills State Park, and east of the
Klemmer U. The trail will take you to the LA County / Orange County
border. One way distance to the cache is 1.9 miles with about 400
feet of elevation gain. Along the way you will have many great
opportunities to view Orange County, Chino Hills State Park, and
the hills north of Chino Hills SP. The cache is a 8" diameter / 10"
tall container.
The best parking and
location to start is at the top end of Olinda Drive
(N33°55.936',
W117° 48.089'). From here, pass the gate
and head north along the paved road. Do not worry about the “No
Trespassing” sign; it refers to the properties on the sides of the
road, and means no vehicles up the blacktop road past the gate. At
around the 1 mile mark (N33°56.542',
W117° 47.915') you will be at a water
tower. Follow the fence to the north side of the water tower and
continue along a thin trail to the cache. You will know you are
close when you see this view:
