Geocache Description:

This cache is placed to coincide with the Derbyshire crafty cachers event

The War Memorial at the foot of Hall Bank was designed by William Smith, a village craftsman who made the W.G.Grace Memorial Gates at Lord`s cricket ground, and the Spa bandstand at Scarborough. The memorial was unveiled by the Duchess of Devonshire in 1924. The war memorial in the form of a collage of pure limestone rocks.
