An easy stroll up to a very well known lookout point in Newlands Forest, and therefore an area of high muggle density at times, so caution is needed!
I have laid this geocache in loving memory of Ruksha, my best friend, pal and protector for thirteen and a half years.
We walked together on the mountain every day, 5 or 6 days a week here in Newlands Forest. (At the weekends we usually walked elsewhere in the Peninsula mountains. )
Ruksha always did rolly-pollys on the grass here at the lookout. She’d flop down onto her back and wriggle around in abandoned enjoyment.
I’d like this to be a cache for dogs, so please leave something for geocaching canines. It would also be nice if you’d bring a picture of your dogs and paste it into the logbook. I’ve left some glue in the cache for this purpose (not for trade). Alternatively, you could add a picture to this site of your dogs enjoying themselves at RollyPolly Corner
I've left some hide chews for each visiting dog. Please only take one per dog. Let me know when the supply is getting low so I can replenish it. The two little cat candle holders are for someone whose dog loves their cats as Ruksha did ours. The folding doggy bowl is one I bought at Harrods after running the London Marathon a few years back. The two pens are meant for the cache and not for trade.
I didn't hide the cache where I'd first thought of doing so as the obvious area is rather full of building rubble and I suspect is used as a toilet too.
As this is a special cache, I wanted it to be in an unspoilt spot. Please take care to conceal it really well under pine needles and replace the rock on top.
