King's Meadow Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Balayang: I am regretfully archiving this cache since unfortunately there has been no action to restore it, or any communication from the cache owner, the_robots, requesting additional time.

An ample opportunity has been provided for the Cache Owner to respond, but since this opportunity has been ignored, I can only conclude that the cache has been abandoned.

Caches archived under these circumstances are unable to be Unarchived, and this location is now available for the placement of a new cache, by somebody else.

Geocache Description:

Cache holds logbook, cache note and pencil. May fit very small items.

This park and ovals are named after the historic 500 year battle between two kings of middle earth people which occurred here way before the birth of humankind. The remnants of this fantastic yet bloody war can still be seen if you're wearing the right viewing equipment, and the sun is in the right spot in the sky.

An alternative theory is that this great oval and picnic area was probably named after local bootmaker, George Ogilsby King. He built his home at 11 Meadow Street, in the 1860's. This cottage is a fine example of a modest tradesman's house from the period. It is still standing, and has not been significantly altered.

We prefer the former story though; far more interesting!
