Falconer Office


Yabuhara Post Town(Ukiyoe)

Kiso was land that the Owari clan (Nagoya) ruled before.
The Owari clan was a feudal lord powerful by one of the houses called three branch families of the house of Tokugawa.

The falconer office in the Owari clan was set up in Yabuhara in 1730, and it continued until 1871.
Several falconers and clan official came from the Owari clan when the office was set up in the height where Yabuhara post town was able to be commanded, and became the spring of every year.

The hawk of Yabuhara that grew up in severe natural environment was very excellent.
It was very popular among Shogun that liked hawking and Owari feudal lord.

Moreover, there was a dividing road with the Hida highway, and was a road to Hida (Gifu northern part) in the thicket field.

Both are in the vicinity of the cache point, too. It is likely to become a sign when cache is visited.

Please enjoy the view of Yabuhara with caching.
It is a wooden comb where the special product of Yabuhara is called "Oroku gushi"(Oroku comb).
It has been made here since Edo period. How in the souvenir?

木曽は、かつては尾張藩(名古屋)が支配する土地でした。
尾張藩は、徳川御三家といわれる家の一つで有力な大名でした。

薮原には、尾張藩の鷹匠役所が享保15年から設置され、明治4年まで続きました。
役所は、藪原宿が一望できる高台に設置され、毎年春になると、尾張藩から鷹匠と役人が数人やって来ました。

厳しい自然環境で育った 薮原の鷹はとても優秀でした。
鷹狩を好んだ将軍や尾張藩主にとても人気がありました。

また、薮原は飛騨街道との分かれ道があり、飛騨(岐阜北部)への道がありました。
どちらもキャッシュポイント近くにあります。キャッシュに訪れる際の目印になるかもしれません。

キャッシングと一緒に 薮原の眺めも楽しんでください。
薮原の名産は、「お六櫛」と呼ばれる木製の櫛です。江戸時代からここで作られています。
お土産に如何でしょうか。
