The cache is located on one of the paths in the Erddig estate.
Health Walk 3 will take you to Green Lane Ponds along flat stony pathways. The cache is found by deviating down the green lane towards the SSW
This pathway is possibly part of a drover's road running between Wrexham and Welshpool.
For hundreds of years from the Middle Ages until the railways took over, thousands of cattle, sheep, pigs and even geese were driven, at an average speed of 2mph to the English markets. Wrexham was said to be the gateway into England for drovers from North Wales taking livestock to market as far as London. Many local pubs have the name 'Drovers' or claim to have ties with the old drovers.
Other sources maintain that this pathway is part of a medieval road linking 2 motte and bailey castles one of these being the one in Erddig Park itself.
The cache is a small plastic jar in a waterproof bag.
