This cache is located in Newhall Community Park in Concord. The park is over 126 acres, 30 of which are developed, so there's plenty of space for recreation. In the developed section, there are ponds along Galindo Creek, picnic areas, bocce courts, and turfed athletic fields. The "Paw Patch" is a secure, fenced area where dogs can exercise off leash. Moki used to enjoy the dog park when he was a pup but now that he's older, he prefers to chill out on the lawn next to it. From the top of the hill, hikers are rewarded with sweeping views from the Carquinez Straits to Mount Diablo – a Vietnam War Memorial graces its vista point.
This area sees a little less activity than the rest of the park, but watch out for muggles since it can get busy at times. After locating the cache, please place it back where you found it. Bring a pen – micro is large enough for a couple of tiny trade items. Have fun and enjoy the rest of the park.
