Geocache Description:

Another in a series designed to take you to each of the football venues in the Pacific-12 conference.

The University of California at Berkeley, the mothership of the UC system has been around for a long, long time. So has its football stadium. Originally built in 1923, it has undergone face lifts from time to time, and has just finished a major renovation project.

The Golden Bears, always good (often really good) have seldom reached great football heights since their last Rose Bowl trip in 1959. The school boasts a well rounded athletic program with numerous national championships, and of course the academic prowess here is legendary.

It has long been a hub of progressive thinking in the United States and was a flashpoint for the tumult and the "power of the people" that was campus life in the 60's. A power that has since manifested itself in the halls of business and government worldwide since.

The cache is a simple one: a magnetized Altoids tin not far from the press entrance to the stadium with a few small items and log sheet. bring your own writing implement.

The views from on high here are truly breathtaking with a panorama of the entire bay area. Enjoy!
