This cache was placed as there are no current caches in Ceduna.
I decided to place it here during a visit to Ceduna for the opening
of the Nullarbor Links (the world's longest golf course)
Ceduna had a thriving fishing industry until the prominence of
aquaculture saw a shift in fishing patterns to Pt Lincoln. Pinky
Point, the location of the cache, overlooks the old Thevenard Jetty
which figured prominently in this local fishing history.
My thanks to captash for the following additional
information:
Thevenard Wharf is the home of the second busiest regional port
in South Australia!
Every week we ship out thousands of tonnes of Grain, Gypsum,
Salt and Mineral Sands to ports in Australia and overseas. Shipping
is on the increase as a result of ILUKA's mineral sands
mining which generates millions of dollars in revenue for the South
Australian Economy.
Also, while in Ceduna make sure you take in one of the
magnificent sunsets
The cache is not at the listed coordinates. Instead you will
need to answer the following questions to find the cache. Looking
toward Thevenard Jetty you will see some silos
A = How many silos are painted black?
B = How many silo access towers can you see?
C = How many silos can you see in the right hand group?
To find the cache proceed A degrees true for a distance of BC
metres from the listed coordinates.
